In our society, these more masculine traits of always being ‘busy' and a productivity and goal focused mindset is often valued more than feminine characteristics. You know, things like rest, reflection and connection- which are now often seen as ‘nice to haves’ and not a regular part of our day to day lives. This benefits no one in the end; and we end up feeling stressed, ‘not ourselves,’ and continually unsatisfied with ourselves and our life.
As human beings, it can be difficult to face things that are preventing us from achieving thriving health. We’re great at making excuses: We let our busy schedules, or people (often those we love the most), mood, or lack of energy dictate our choices and path forwards. So how do we move forwards, faster, and not look back? After looking through the research and over 10 years of clinical experience, I’ve decided that community is the answer.
